The Ponderosa Heights area of Ruidoso is positioned west and southwest of Eastern New Mexico University - Ruidoso which along with Alberston's Market is one of the anchor tenants in the Sierra Mall.  Like many of the older, in town neighborhoods of Ruidoso, Ponderosa Heights is a mix of site built and manufactured homes built or set in the late 1960's, 1970's and 1980's.  The surface streets in this area are a real spaghetti bowl and they wind around ridge tops, dip into small canyon and then up and over to the next valley so make sure you have your navigation set if you enter. 

As the architecture is mixed so are the home values in Ponderosa Heights. Some of the larger site built homes can approach the upper range for Ruidoso, while the older manufactured homes generally represent some of the most affordable housing in the Village.

The proximity to the University and one of the Village's best grocery stores are definite pluses for this area and the streets offer plenty of summer shade as there are plenty of you guessed it ... Ponderosas!
