Grindstone Canyon is located in the Southwest quadrant of the Village of Ruidoso sandwiched between Midtown and the Upper Canyon to the North of Grindstone Lake and the Mescalero Apache reservation to the South.  The area is close to Ruidoso's Midtown and just a five minute drive or so out to the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort & Casino.  Perched on a rise of the North side of Grindstone Lake the higher elevations in this subdivision provide some striking views of Sierra Blanca.  Construction is mixed with some higher end homes on the North side and some manufactured and smaller homes on the Southern side. 

Included in the Grindstone Canyon area is the Carrizo Canyon corridor.  Carrizo Canyon Road exits Ruidoso to the Southwest and takes travelers to the Inn of the Mountain Gods Resort & Casino.  Bordering Carrizo Canyon Road is a fairly balanced mix of older residential and light commercial properties as well as a few lodging establishment properties.  Take a drive out to the Inn, it’s easy to get a feel for the type of properties lining the Carrizo Canyon Corridor.
