Camelot is a very unique area. Unlike any other neighborhood in the Ruidoso area, it's accessed from New Mexico HWY 70 right as one approaches the Village of Ruidoso's eastern border. Because of this, Camelot though close geographically to the rest of the Village, feels like miles away, as it is essentially miles away by surface road. This sense of seclusion has its advantages as it's great for those that enjoy abundant wildlife sightings, quiet star filled nights and an expansive, impressive view to the north, overlooking the rest of Ruidoso and to the west, an equally stunning view where your eye takes in, Lake Mescalero, Grindstone Lake and the entire spine of the northern Sacramento mountains including the towering peak of Sierra Blanca.
Considering its large expanse, Camelot is sparsely constructed with homes. Lots of space separates most homes, which tend to be on the larger side and built in the 1990's and following. There are also a smattering of condominium and timeshare projects on northern edge of the mountain which overlooks the Village.
All in all, for those seeking solitude without moving to the next county, Camelot can be a great choice.
