VIEW APACHE HILLS LISTING MAP
Apache Hills is broadly described as the residential area south of Ruidoso's Midtown Commercial District. For our purposes we include in the Apache Hills area all the homes south of Sudderth DR and west of Carrizo Canyon Road all the way to the traffic circle at the start of the Upper Canyon.
Walkability Score is probably one of the most defining features of this area as many of the homes in Apache Hills are only minutes away on foot from the heart of Ruidoso. Many home buyers will find this proximity to Ruidoso's quaint shops, restaurants and nightlife a real plus when purchasing.
Most homes in this area are what we define as older. This makes sense as, historically, this was one off the first areas to be built out as the town grew outward from the town center. Here, you'll find most structures to have been built in the 70's and 80's, with, of course, some older and some newer. Like most Ruidoso neighborhoods, you'll find Apache Hills to be quiet. Most streets dead end to the south, so mostly locals. One exception is Wingfield St which is used my many as a Midtown bypass so traffic can be a bit heavier on this street.
And speaking of Wingfield, Apache Hills is also home to Ruidoso's Wingfield Park. It's a great place for a solo, contemplative stroll or with fido. Plus, Ruidoso hosts many great events at the park throughout the year. Music, craft beer, BBQ and other events take place right in the neighborhood.
